Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element):
Ability to do the work of a Heavy Mobile Equipment Repairer without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex Heavy Mobile Equipment Repairer duties. I am skilled in:
Cleaning, repairing, reinstalling or replacing defective parts or components and systems on heavy mobile and track equipment; Operating gas and electric welding equipment to perform repairs; Determining parts required by review of technical and supply manuals; Performing visual and/or mechanical inspections of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems with the turret and gun assemblies of combat vehicles; and Performing inspections of engine, power-train, and chassis components before and after support maintenance repair or overhaul. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Works in tiring and/or uncomfortable positions for long periods. Work requires frequent bending, reaching, stretching, climbing, and crouching. Works on top and under vehicles in cramped or awkward positions. Frequently lifts and carries up to 40 to 50 pounds and lifts and moves heavier items with assistance of other workers and with lifting devices. Working Conditions:
Work is performed inside maintenance facility, outside at an unannounced field location, and/or in a lighted shop. Works in a dirty, greasy, muddy, and noisy atmosphere. Frequent exposure to the possibility cuts, bruises, shocks, burns, and strains. Work involves constant exposure to exhaust fumes and exposure to weather (hot and cold, rain and snow). Operates vehicle in all types of traffic and weather conditions. Worker is exposed to possible serious accidents.
