Project Leader - Fires Battle Laboratory

Project Leader - Fires Battle Laboratory
Responsible for supervising a team providing planning and analytical services for the Fires Battle Lab (FBL) in performing Joint- and Army-directed experimentation. The Fires Center of Excellence's Fires Battle Lab is conducting a series of experiments using live, virtual, constructive and gaming experiments, demonstrations, and wargames/seminars to gain insights and assess current, emerging and evolving concepts, technology and materiel initiatives as they relate employment of fires in Army, joint, and coalition operations. Key to success in this effort, is leveraging existing technologies in new ways and the continued assessment and development of "Electric Fires" (EF) capabilities, which include directed energy (high energy laser, high power microwaves, etc.), plasma and electrodynamic kinetic energy weapons (i.e., railgun, electro-thermal gun, etc.) technologies used to destroy, degrade, deny or disrupt a threat's capability. These experiments will have implications across the domains of Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership, Personnel, Facilities, and Policy (DOTMLPF-P). The team will support development of Army experiments, demonstrations and wargames/seminars to inform the development of Force 2025 and Beyond (F2025B). Key subject matter expertise in analysis, Army/Joint FA/ADA experiment design and electric fires is required for this undertaking.
For Experiments related to Joint and Army integrating and Fires experiments:
1) Attend all experiment conferences and develop products required for: Concept Development Conferences (CDC), Initial Planning Conferences, Mid Planning Conferences, Final Planning Conferences, and Monthly Government s In-Progress Review (IPR).
2) For each conference, develop briefing input, provide technical expertise to distributed participants and present briefings to players, directors and senior officers if the primary action officer is not available.
3) Supervise a team of nine (9) military analysts to provide subject-matter expertise (SME) in the planning, analyzing, and reporting of Field Artillery (FA) and Air Defense Artillery (ADA) experiments to include:
Unified Challenge (UC) 15.1/16.1 Seminar/Wargame (SWG)
UC 15.2/16.2 Simulation-Based Experiment (SIMEXp)
UC 15.3/16.3 Game-Based Experiment (GAMEXp)
Joint Counter Low, Slow, Small UAS Field Tests
Maneuver & Fires Integration Experiment
Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC) and Industry
Actionable Infrared Data Exploitation (AIDE) Joint Fiber Laser Mission Engagement (JFLAME)
Black Dart Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS)
Army Expeditionary Warfighting Experiment (AEWE)
Maneuver and Fires Integration Experiment (MFIX)
Electric Fires Seminar
Bachelor's degree and at least twelve years' cumulative operational experience in Field Artillery (FA) or Air Defense Artillery (ADA). A minimum of eight years' experience ADA or FA operational planning and experience equivalent to at least four events that include experimentation, demonstration, or testing.
